Farmville – The Best Crops To Grow
Building the biggest and best farm of Farmville takes hard work, planting, harvesting and plowing multiple times a day. It also requires doing some math to figure out which crops offer the best time/experience ratio.
Crops in Farmville have a specific amount of time when they can be harvested. For example, Raspberries take 2 hours to grow and then you have an additional 2 hours to harvest them after they have finished growing. If you don’t harvest them within this time frame, they will die and you will not get any reward for harvesting dead crops. You should grow at least one crop of Raspberries to get the ‘Green Thumb’ ribbon.
Blueberries are the most profitable crop in FarmVille because they give you the most Farmville coins. It only takes 4 hours for Blueberries to grow so you can harvest them many times a day. When you go to bed, plant a slower growing crop such as Tomatoes or Pumpkins that take 8 hours to grow. Then you will not only have 8 hours before they finish growing, but another 8 hours to harvest them just in case you are not up bright and early in the morning. Some other viable options for night-time crops are Aloe Vera which takes 6 hours to grow, or Rice which takes 12 hours to grow.
It’s important to never fill your entire farm with the same crop. You should always have a mix of crops such as Blueberries, Tomatoes, Grapes and Pumpkins. If you’re just starting out and don’t have all the crops unlocked, try mixing Strawberries, Soybeans and Rice. Using a mix of crops helps pass the time and you’ll always have something to do throughout the day. This also provides a steady stream of experience points and coins.
On the topic of trees, Cherry and Peach trees are a waste of space and don’t pay well. Banana, Olive and Date trees will give you decent coins when harvested. Overall, I would skip trees completely and just plant crops because they’re much more profitable. If you keep getting trees as gifts, it’s a good idea to just harvest them once and sell them, putting the coins towards crops.
